Power & Peace of Mind Upgrade: Ultra-Quiet Bathroom Fan and Whole-Home Surge Protection Installed in Colton, WA

Cheetah Electric combined a bathroom ventilation upgrade with a whole-home surge protection installation. The work focused on improving air quality and moisture control in a bathroom, while also adding layered electrical protection for the entire home.

For the bathroom ventilation upgrade, Cheetah Electric installed a Panasonic WhisperGreen premium bathroom fan with a DC-rated motor. The unit includes selectable airflow settings of 50, 80, and 110 CFM, so the homeowner can set ventilation to match the room size and usage. The fan was specifically installed to fit 2x8 construction and features an integrated dual 4 inch or 6 inch duct adapter, giving flexibility for different ducting configurations.

The WhisperGreen unit is UL listed for tub and shower enclosures, which makes it appropriate for wet locations in the bathroom. It was properly installed with GFCI protection, ensuring the electrical connections meet safety requirements. The DC motor and thoughtful installation result in quiet, energy-efficient operation, reducing noise and lowering the fan's power draw compared with older models.

Separately, the team installed a premium whole-home surge protector using an inside panel mounting kit. This is a 120/240V panel-mounted surge suppressor designed to protect the house wiring and connected devices from large transient voltage events. The unit provides approximately 120kA of surge protection capacity and includes an audible alarm to notify the homeowner if the device ever fails or needs attention.

The surge protector comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty and a $100,000 connected equipment protection guarantee, offering added coverage for sensitive electronics and appliances. Because the device is mounted at the electrical panel, it offers a first line of defense against surges before they travel through branch circuits to individual devices. That helps protect home networks, entertainment systems, computers, and appliances.

By combining the upgraded bathroom fan and whole-home surge protection, this project addressed both comfort and electrical safety in the home. The ventilation upgrade helps control humidity and reduce the risk of mold and moisture damage, while the panel-mounted surge suppressor adds long-term protection for electronics and the electrical system.
